In 1911, the army built seven hangars, a water tower and set up several mess tents for the Army Aviation School. The school operated out of College Park until 1913.
At one College Park's frequent air shows, aero acrobat, Vincent "Squeak" Burnett performs the 'square loop maneuver' during which he turns the plane upside down.
Air Shows were held again at College Park in the 1960s to raise money to save the airport from closing. This photograph is from the 58th Anniversary Air Show and Parade.
